Who do you buy your Gas/Electricity from?

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

I'm moving in two weeks so I'm looking for recommendations for new electricity and gas providers.

Has they world gone completely mad - that's two people buying either gas or electricity from the RSPB  What do they do? Capture Sparrow Farts and pipe them to your home? Use draughts from flapping tethered birds in their sancturies to drive wind turbines :? Run guano-fueled power stations, or just capture the kinetic energy from a bunch of twitchers. The mind truely boggles

(to answer your question, Good Energy for electric and the nearest gas main is a high pressure 12" pipe two fields away with no connections available locally - good for winding up the salespeople who hang around Fore Street offering to supply you both gas and electricity and save you money; yes I'll sign up for buying gas from you, can you let me know when you will be putting the pipe in)

I buy my power from whoever the University of Liverpool buys its power from- the price is included in the rent.

It's irritating to see everyone else leave the lights to the kitchens switched on all night. Not having to pay the bills removes the incentives for people to switch the lights off round here.

I hear Manchester City FC are to be selling electricity soon! They're installing a large wind turbine to power their floodlights and are selling the excess energy to local residents
