Various parties of the far right/hard right have made significant gains in the recent EU elections. Details from news media of your choice, widely reported. Concerns regarding immigration have been given as a reason for these results.
Macron has called a snap election in France, presumably as a result of this news.

The two dominant, entrenched centre-right parties in Ireland have taken most seats in recent local elections, with the far-right taking about 4% of the total, still too many. The two traditional parties benefitted from a low turnout.
