Whatever the efficacy or otherwise of the proposed actions, I'd suggest that politically this is quite a big deal, and to be welcomed.

This is dreaming, "renewables" will never allow BAU, it's just pretence. They will frack themselves into oblivion before anything is done.

I like Roger Harrabin's analogy yesterday on R4. What the scientists say we need to do is like climbing to the summit of Everest. Obama is walking towards base-camp.

Still, it's a necessary walk.
