Who is a good politician?

I have some time for Caroline Lucas but the one that keeps catching my eye for what she says about all sorts of world issues is the Icelandic member of parliament, Birgitta Jónsdóttir. The avater (drawn by Italian cartoonist,
theHand) that she uses in the social media kind of sums up her stance:
Who else deserves to walk the world stage?

+1 for Caroline Lucas.
Icelandic politics seems to be a breath of fresh air: Jón Gnarr, Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir and as Biff mentioned, Birgitta Jónsdóttir..
I'm not saying any of them deserve a platform on the world stage, just that they seem to be doing something right in Iceland.

Jón Gnarr's Wikipedia entry makes entertaining reading:

Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, the prime minister, should indeed be ranked among the good politicians of the world stage.

In the UK who do we have whose strong on immigration and has peak oil central to their platform, I can think of only nick griffin who I have never voted for mainly because I'd feel I was letting down friends and family, but he is strong on what will be the two big issues .
Ive voted green but I think mostly they don't get it,
Anyway thats about it the vast majority of politicians don't cover the main issues , I don't think Caroline Lucas would do the sort of thing you need to do to stop this country being swamped with people I think shes to fluffy.

Michael Meacher knows all about Peak Oil and why we are in the Middle East. I listened to a speech by him when he visited a "Green gathering" in N Ireland about 3 or 4 years ago and he knew all about it and was trying to raise the issue at full steam.
Thats why I am certain that all the politicians know about the issue. I was first to get the microphone and asked why it was not being discussed in Westminster, his reply was that "they" (politicians) can't talk about problems that have no solutions. Secondly he said that they do talk about it, but using the proxy term oil security.
I know that Lembit Opik is no longer an MP, but he knew all about it as well. They all do!

Vince Cable was Chief Economist at Shell, surely he has some awareness of PO?! That said, how much power do UK politicans really have?

Jeremy Clarkson -- he seems to know how to motivate all people of different politics, colours and creeds.

There's no need for that kind of language.

I picked up his book a while back and stumbled upon a reference to Peak Oil. He claims it will happen but not soon enough for it to be an immediate problem.
He is, of course, talking bollocks and knows it. What do you expect? He's a politician.

If you look at all parties over the whole spectrum of issues- well, put it this way, I've always soething to find fault with according to my own ideology at least.

Though I know comparatively little about her, Jane Davidson is probably more of the sort of person we need.

I think Vince has been bought off and has gone way downhill. I back the Vikings already mentioned: we should be part of Scandanavia.
