Trumpwatch

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

This guy sees societies in a fairly classical view of cycling between revolution or reform, and long periods of stability where one branch of the ruling elite slowly gain ever more power and wealth, until social inequality grows to the point where another branch of the elite use popular discontent to take over power, and either reform social inequality or exacerbate it, which usually ends in bloody civil war. Trump is that coup, and on current form civil war seems most likely.

Another analysis sees the role of president having been split, with Trump doing the ceremonial and top level diplomatic stuff, and Musk running the country, to his own personal enrichment, by shutting down as much of the state as possible before the working classes who voted for trump realise they are a LOT worse off, and start kicking Republicans out of office in about a year.

It is going to get very messy.
