United States Presidential Election 2024

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

Trump's done. Harris will be the next US president. Betting odds now have her favourite and Trump's floundering. The debate next month will be the nail in the coffin, no way is Trump coming out of that debate on top.

He's too old. A fact that was being obscured by having an opponent who was even older.

There appears to have been ANOTHER attempt on the life of Trump.

Well...., Trump supports the NRA which in turn supports every Tom, Dick and Harry having the right to carry a gun...
Not so funny when they're being pointed at him though...
He must be thinking his luck won't hold out for ever...

It certainly will be something that a future President Trump needs to consider that he may get popped by another fanatic if he abandons Ukraine.

Not long to go now. I'm pretty confident Harris is going to win. Certainly the popular vote and it would need to be a pretty crazy string of events of Trump to come through.

However, a lot can happen in 11 days. There's still the Israeli attack on Iran to come, which could be catastrophic if they chose to target Iran's oil exporting infrastructure. It's all been a bit 'too' quiet over the last couple weeks.

Funny, from what I'm watching, I feel that a Trump win is more likely....
It's so close to call and the US voting system is as flawed as ours....
There are so many 'safe States' for either side, so votes only really count in 'marginal States'....
Not heard, but is there any call for electoral reform in the US, as we need to have here....?

I would bet a $100 that Trump claims victory on the day of the election. Not that I expect anyone to offer me odds on that bet!

I expect fatal violence to begin within one week if Harris does not concede defeat.

It's all down to the Electoral College. If there is a clear winner in each state then the result will be certified by the Senate with the VP as the casting vote in a 50-50 Red-Blue Senate. If there is a Florida hanging chad situation then it will be otherwise.

Trump will thrive on delay but don't forget that Gore caused all the legal delays on the hanging chad stuff in Florida and even the judges got tired of it in the end.

I got a clip share the other day of some guy appearing to tear up Trump votes.

Any predictions for the result of the election? (Apart from predicting that Trump will claim that he won , of course)

US of America is certainly a well ordinanced country. Problem is that the counting places are at a county level I believe so hard to get at them all and they are protected by local law enforcement who know all the local troublemakers.

As a final opinion I liked the T-shirt worn by a Trump supporter. "Build the Wall. Deport them all!". For all his faults I favour him over Kamala. She's just too weak and indecisive and symptomatic of all that is wrong with the place.
