What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

I don't consider the express to be an entirely reliable source of facts, is this story reported anywhere more reliable ?
I AM NOT saying that it is untrue, but I would take the news a bit more seriously if it was also reported elsewhere.

I do not consider that the Sun is any more reliable than the Express, BUT two reports from different unreliable sources, are beginning to look a bit more believable.
We live in interesting times.

Technically they don't have enough seats to wreck the Tory-DUP majority, but they can cut it from 13 to 6, and their mere presence at Westminster would be enough to send shivers down the spines of the whole chamber. Just imagine Gerry Adams speaking from the opposition benches in response to the DUP. Imagine the power of that image to destroy the reputation of the tory party.
Also, just as a matter of interest, from what I have read, there were about twenty by-elections in the 2010 - 2015 parliament. I don't know if that is typical. But, if it is, then this would suggest an average of 4 per year.
I can't see this happening. SF mPs have offices etc in westminster.
Sf would only do this if promised a referendum. This would bring up the honest broker arguement, chaos and violence in NI, potential breakup of the UK, and damaged reputation to labour and corbyn
The shinners always trot over to register so they can get their dibs on allowances, claim office space and top up on laser printer toner etc. Who knows perhaps they use the portcullis envelopes as fire lighters? This is a wind up and the fear of them toppling the government is entirely in the fevered imaginings of Express hacks.
The tory government and the lib dems have shown that they are quite capable of doing that themselves.

True, but they would have to get something out of it that they really want (eg a referendum on a united ireland that they might win). As it stands I think a majority would vote to remain with the UK.
