Manchester is playing host to a group of MEPs in November, who will be exploring how the city-region is embracing key developments in areas such as the media and creative industries and how to tackle climate change.

Manchester is my Planet will be showcasing its work, demonstrating how it has brought together ten local authorities, universities, businesses and over 20,000 climate change pledgees to help shape a green energy revolution for the Manchester City-Region.

The event will showcase the progress made in engaging local people on the lifestyle changes needed to respond to the challenges of climate change and will include a screening of a film which successfully engaged young people on the need for action.

Held at the Manchester Museum, under the watchful gaze of Stan the T-Rex, the museum’s director, Nick Merriman will discuss the work this prestigious venue has undertaken with the Carbon Trust in improving the energy performance of their Waterhouse-designed neo-gothic building.

The event has been organised in conjunction with Manchester: Knowledge Capital, Manchester is my Planet, Manchester Museum, Northwest Development Agency and Marketing Manchester.

Part of the day will be a Question and Answer session with the MEPs - and we're giving you the chance to put your climate change questions to them.
