So, today Trump has instructed Putin to end the "ridiculous" Ukraine war "or else". Should be interesting to see what happens next...

Trump is right, it is actually time to make a deal. It's gone on for long enough.

Re: Trumpwatch
Leaked internal memo says Trump is considering sending 10,000 troops to the border with Mexico. This does look like a genuine attempt to shift reality. To what extent it will actually work I have no idea, but the signal being sent is "This time we mean business. Keep out."

Trump urges Opec to slash oil prices:

In Trumpworld, everything is money and everything id 'deal to be done'....
Personally, can't see it working with OPEC or Russia, but will be interesting to see what happens now....

So here's Trump's big plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war on day 1."Right now the price is high enough that that war will continue," he said, referring to the Russia-Ukraine war and suggesting that the higher oil price was helping to sustain funding for the conflict in Moscow. "You gotta bring down the oil price, that will end that war. You could end that war," he added

I've always found him to be a huge source of entertainment, and i'm excited to see how he is going to entertain me next. In his own words, it's going to be sooo great. Raise my spirits, Donald, make them great again!

US President Donald Trump has said he wants Egypt and Jordan to take in Palestinians from Gaza.
Trump said he had made the request to Jordan's King Abdullah and planned to ask Egypt's president on Sunday, too.
Describing Gaza as a "demolition site", Trump said: "You're talking about probably a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing". He added that the move "could be temporary" or "could be long-term".
The comments will likely outrage Palestinians in Gaza, for whom it is their home. Both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority condemned the proposal. Jordan's foreign minister said the kingdom was "firm and unwavering" in its rejection of displacing Palestinians.

Trump does not believe in any two state solution. He wants Gazans (Arabs) to move to neighbouring countries and let Israeli settlers take what is left of 'Gaza'. It will be called ' Greater Israel '. Agree or not, that is the direction of travel....UndercoverElephant wrote: ↑26 Jan 2025, 18:02 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c07kpjyzgllo

Egypt may be a country to watch over the next few years, their economy is in tatters, kept afloat by US and Saudi, but when it goes south there are over 100 million potential refugees/migrants that the Arab gulf states won't welcome.

Trump orders 25% tariffs on Colombia after US planes deporting migrants turned back
This is now not just a war of trade, but a war of words.
It’s no secret that Colombia’s President Petro doesn’t like Donald Trump – he’s heavily criticised his policies on migration and the environment in the past.
That just ratcheted up.
Petro has today said Trump would “wipe out the human species because of greed” and accused Trump of considering Colombians an “inferior race”.
He goes on to say that he is “stubborn” and that while Trump can try to “carry out a coup” with “economic strength and arrogance”, he will, in short, fight back.
Not only does Petro appear to threaten retaliatory tariffs, but most significantly he says: “From today on, Colombia is open to the entire world, with open arms.”
While Trump is unlikely to take threats from Colombia, this is something that should worry a US president who wants to tackle migration.
Currently, tens of thousands of migrants from around the world – facilitated by criminal gangs – travel through Colombia every year to reach North America through the treacherous Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama.
The question now is how people will respond: will Colombia’s open invitation mean more attempt the journey?
Or will the threat of a closed US border at the end, and scenes of handcuffed deportees, deter people?
We must deal with reality or it will deal with us.
