How Green is the Government?

What can we do to change the minds of decision makers and people in general to actually do something about preparing for the forthcoming economic/energy crises (the ones after this one!)?

How Green is the Government?

Post by Potemkin Villager »

As the COP26 tsunami of grandstanding and media overkill gets up to
speed it is becoming harder to find any commentary that is not either
vacuous, simplistic or confusing.

It was a relief to stumble upon this well researched Dispatches documentary on UK CH4 tonight
which does a good job of drilling down into the reality of the various impressive sounding claims
for the UK's progress, plans and programmes in dealing with climate change.

I'm just listening to the BBC and a questioner relating fuel poverty to a lack of solar panels! Neither Kirsty Wark nor any of the panel bought the conversation around to the real cause of fuel poverty and that is a pathetic lack of insulation. When you have a panel of people who are part of a conference addressing climate change making such a fundamental error it doesn't bode well for the conference or our future.

I have just been banned from /reddit/r/climate_change for basically saying the same thing. It seems if you now say "nothing that is being done is actually going to work", the simpleton moderators assume this indicates you are a breed of climate change denier, or a defender of BAU.
