BBC News - 24/03/10

Chancellor Alistair Darling is preparing to give his third budget, the last before the general election.

He is expected to describe it as "a Budget to secure the recovery and invest in our industrial future".

The chancellor is expected to outline a plan for the future, with billions invested in digital jobs, broadband for all, high-speed rail and biotech industries.

The only significant action he is likely to take today is suspend the rise in fuel duty.

The real budget will be after the election - I would say within 3 months.

It's on the radio at the moment, but I'm not really listening. He mentioned the G word too often, so it's probably all a load of bollocks

I heard several people on TV today moaning about the fuel rise and claiming that the oil price was really low. I don't know where they got that idea from.
