What ever happened to the patent for the Edinburgh Duck?

or Salters Duck was an attempt in the 70's to harness wave power and although I have seen more recent attempt they all use really ungainly snake pontoons.

Salters Duck was a simple Cam/Tubby Wing design linked together in a line and what amazed me was the footage of a small scale trial where the waves hitting the outside were large but the water inside the system was calm.

I'm just wondering who ended up with the Patent for it as it looked very effective and simple?

I imagine the patent has expired as it was developed in the 70s and they last about 20 years or so I think?

Oh crikey I remember that on Tomorrow's World. Salter himself is alive and well and working on some geoengineering whereby wind-powered ships with wind-powered sprayers spray something (iron sulphate?) into the air to increase its albedo.

What on earth this'd do to the sea is anybody's guess.

Even if it was patented, it's probably lapsed by now as most patents at that time were for 20-odd years.
