A £9.5m wave and current test facility is being built in Scotland to help research and development of marine energy devices.
The facility in Edinburgh will be able to mimic the normal and extreme conditions of coastlines around Europe.
It will simulate combinations of waves of up to 28m (91.9ft) high and currents of up to 12 knots.
The project will be managed by FloWave TT, a not-for-profit subsidiary of the University of Edinburgh.
