New Energy Focus - 31/08/10
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has confirmed that an announcement on the government's plans for a Severn Tidal project is due this Autumn.
Speaking to NewEnergyFocus.com, a spokesman from DECC claimed the results of the feasibility study looking into the five proposed schemes for the Severn Estuary would be published during the next session of Parliament.
He added that the government would, at the same time, make its intentions clear as to whether it thought a scheme should go ahead at all.
The spokesman said: "We are expecting to make an announcement this Autumn when the House of Commons is back in session. It will be in the not too distant future."
