ARCHIVE REPORT, of a power supply breakdown. Restoration was delayed by escaping gas.
In particular note the congestion caused by the works, and use of transportable generators to restore power to some customers. In some cases generators were connected into the existing mains network, and in other cases temporary cables run into the customers premises, often via the letterbox.

Although this is ARCHIVE NEWS it is still interesting IMHO.
