The growing numbers of these pests was discussed at a recent farmers meeting/social event.
My neighbour stated that the best control measure was "Ukrainians" ! Whom describe the birds as large, stupid, and very good to eat. Best taken with a gun, but with patience they can be caught alive in a wicker rabbit trap .
The three local Ukrainian refugee families are accounting for at least a dozen geese a day, no reduction in numbers has been noticed.

Canada geese are hated by beef and sheep farmers due to the amount of grass that they eat. They also frighten and stress free range chickens, and allegedly kill kittens.

We need more wolves and lynxes to be released to naturally control the numbers of Canada geese and other herbivores!! Would that be the vegan approach or would they just let them increase in numbers until they adversely affected the food supply of the even more grossly overpopulated country that we will see in the near future as global warming reduces world food supply and we find it impossible to import food. We could then ask the geese nicely to not eat our food and to control their numbers by adopting safe sex!
