I looked at that and thought it was a bit low but elsewhere 3000mm is mentioned so I suppose it was a mistranslation from mm to ft. Some of you Americans do seem to have a problem with proper dimensions!!

Since NASA is American, they must have a problem with their figures too. They can’t tell whether it’s getting hotter or cooler (nor can the Chinese).

So our right wing, conspiracy theory and Trump supporter, anti science, flat earther, woodburner, doesn't know the science behind a solar minimum. A solar minimum is a temporary, cyclical change in the sun's output. It may last 11 years or it may last 33 years but the sun's output will regain its strength in a very short period, geologically speaking.

The reduction in average temperature of the Maunder minimum was less than 1 deg C while the temperature increase due to global warming now stands at 1.2 deg C. The only reason that we are not suffering Maunder Minimum temperatures now is that we have global warming. If we carry on emitting carbon as we now are, in a decade or so we will come out of the minimum with a bang and temperatures will jump to levels never experienced in the history of mankind. We are getting record temperatures and record rainfall even with a solar minimum so imagine what life would be like without the solar minimum.

But woodburner is too thick to see that. He would much rather follow his hero, the Donald, and make fun of serious science so that a load of already over rich Kleptomanics can carry on screwing the life blood out of the economy and the rest of us taking as much of the money in this world that they possibly can before the collapse, that they know is coming, overwhelms us. Woodburner cannot, unfortunately, see that he has been conned by the neoliberal Kleptocracy into working for their benefit spreading their lies and misinformation.

The first paragraph in your earlier diatribe is yet another of your characteristicly personal attacks, totally without fact, and looks like pure hate speech. Yet you would like people to think your are reasonable and logical and scientific.

How are you going to deal with your continued emmissions of hot air? Or do those not contribute to global warming?

The climate alarmists just can’t catch a break. NASA is reporting that the sun is entering one of the deepest Solar Minima of the Space Age; and Earth’s atmosphere is responding in kind.

A 500 year cycle has not, as far as I know been detected elsewhere in the earth's sediment and ice records so this may well be just a local phenomenon of which there are many. Perhaps CLV might be able to add something to this.

She is predicting here a partial slowdown. She is not saying global warming is a hoax.

No, woodburner, nothing to worry about except of course the climate inexorably warming. The thing about a partial slowdown is that the CO2 levels are still rising in the background so when the sun returns to normal the rise in temperature is very marked indeed.
