The frightening thing is that 3/4 of the pre-industrial increase has happened in my lifetime - 25% increase over background in 50 years.

Most of the increase from 1700 to 1960 was down to coal production from the UK. Most of the current increase is from coal production from USA and China.

It also clearly shows up the north south divide - the majority of the action originating in the northern hemisphere.

That's the joy(???) of the exponential function of which our economists and politicians seem to have no concept. Growth can carry on exponentially and indefinitely according to them!!
