Ever get the feeling that you've adapted to a niche and it's now squeezing you out?

Bill McKibben tells a powerful story.

But lets acknowledge that Bill McKibben is a catastrophist. He loves to talk about catastrophy...... check out his books and articles to see that this is imo a fair conclusion.

When I read something that says, "This month, scientists issued a new study concluding that global warming has dramatically increased the likelihood of severe heat and drought – days after a heat wave across the Plains and Midwest broke records that had stood since the Dust Bowl, threatening this year's harvest."

I always think to myself what set the record temperatures during the Dust Bowl? Which was in the 1930s I believe. Did we have global warming back then, or was it simply normal climatic trends? From what I know it was normal climatic trends......

I know some people will strongly disagree with my thoughts, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't make the point which I consider has to be asked.

Whilst North America has been hitting many high temp. records, of course us in the UK have had a very poor summer and there have been record cold temps in Australia and South America as well as Scanidnavia. So, I suppose you could say swings and roundabouts - which is probably the norm?

A final note, I see very clearly the dichotomy of using up the fossil fuel reserves and the impact they think that will have on CO2 and the impacts they think that will have on global temps. But of course, if any of the beliefs, assumptions, conclusions about CO2 and higher temps and higher humidity are wrong or evenly partly wrong, then those predictions may not be safe..... just saying.

How could an increase in atmospheric CO2 from under 300ppm to almost 400ppm not result in global warming?
