Thailand is suffering it's worst ever flooding according to the Thai woman who runs the fish and chip shop in my village. Her mum lives in the worst affected area. She is worried.
Joe Romm agrees:

The Thailand flooding seems to be rather under-reported in Britain. It seems to be getting worse as water moves south towards Bangkok. Toyota has put Indonesian car plants on three day working as part from Thai aren't coming. 25% of world hard drive production has stopped with the flooding of Western Digital's plants. Thailand is the biggest exporter of rice. Much of this year's crop is lost.

I've seen stuff on the BBC News about how workers were filling sandbags to protect their factories from the flooding. It's not on the News daily though.
I think the Beeb might be trying to downplay the bad news at the moment. I distinctly heard them report that Mervin King, The Governor of the Bank of England had said that we are going to suffer worse problems than in the 1930s in the next few years but I can't find anything on the Beeb News website about it now.

I honestly don't think the BBC is trying to downplay bad news. For an independent news organisation, any news is good news and bad news is when not much is happening in the world.

Thanks for that reference, UE. I couldn't find anything about that using several different searches.

Not just Thailand; at Huizucar, El Salvador 1.513 meters (4.96 feet) of rain fell in the past ten days.
