That is impressive as the insulation of the batteries and cables must be reasonably good. It depends, of course, on how long they have been underwater.

When adding pictures to the forum from hosting sites like www.Tinypic.com can you please use the "Resize for Message board to 640 x 480" option so that we can see the whole image and don't have to read the rest of the page using the scroll bar.

I didn't know Texans were that big into car pooling.

I'd love to accommodate you on this. Just where in the posting process does the option come up?

A bit tangential, but here's a Tory saying that in-house Council departments are better at dealing with floods (and the Unexpected in general) than outsourced outfits are.

Which we all knew anyway, but it's nice to see it coming from t'other side the House :)

Central France has seen some of its worst flooding in 100 years
Ah. There's a lot of these 'once-in-a-hundred years' events these days.

What misery it all is for these people, at precisely the time we're having glorious weather, not that far away.

You may be, but so far 'summer' in East Anglia has been cold, wet and windy.

It makes a change for us. We usually get a short 'summer' here (we've earned it, sort of). But when the sun goes, it goes. Most weather here is overcast.

It's (perhaps) interesting to note that while there have been bad floods in France in the past, they've almost always been in January/February (and occasionally in March), not in May/June!
