The legal instrument should incorporate wildlife safeguards in conflict regions, including protections for nature reserves, controls on the spread of guns used for hunting and measures to hold military forces to account for damage to the environment, say the signatories to the letter, published in the journal Nature.'

This should apply to national governments and corporations too, and their enablers.

It must be just so...easy...for the rich members of the rich countries of the world to stand on their ivory towers with their heads above the clouds and make grand proclamations. I suppose this makes a good talking point for some, the holier-than-thou crowds wave them at each other as proof of their pureness when it comes to their innate altruism and proof of goodness.

Immediately prior to jumping on an aircraft and winging off to somewhere, driving around furiously in their liquid fuel powered car, supporting the modern petrochemical and industrial agriculture industries with every move they make or bite they take.

That will make use of agricultural chemicals just about a capital offence then? I would agree with that, unfortunately all the occupants of industrialised countries, would be guilty.

I've just been asked to sign this petition against a gold mining company in Armenia which is polluting the local environment and are now taking the country to "corporate" court as the locals have blockaded the mine to stop them working and damaging the local environment.

The above would be just what is required to stop this sort of corporate bullying.
