My point is, the writer of the BBC reply may just have made a mistake in the wording, and may have meant the rate of increase of CO2. Given her? name is Lucia Fortucci, English might not be her first language.

And my point is that my complaint was not addressed, the response indicating it was not understood. I hardly think that the BBC should be let off the hook because of alleged lack of language skills of their communications staff.

At 6.50 this morning Radio 4 mentioned the Warsaw climate conference but immediately moved on to an interview with Bjorn Lomborg, of all people, greenwashing the disastrous Japanese retreat from its Kyoto commitments. BBC fail again.

BBC R4 Today John Humphrys in reply to Melvyn Bragg's suggestion that his programme was 'complexity on edge of chaos', summed up the mainstream media's approach to journalism as "First simplify then exaggerate". Perfect description.
