Did Climate Change cause the fall of the Roman Empire?

Scientists have claimed climate change could have brought about the end of the Roman Empire.


Using evidence from trees of the period scientists believe they have proved a link between weather conditions and humanity's more stable and unstable periods.

Whilst it is highly probable that Climate Change had a significant impact, there were other factors that caused the Roman Empire to collapse.
These factors are rather worryingly similar to the problems we face today...

Only the western Roman Empire collapsed. Constantinople held out for another thousand years.
