A few locals driving very slowly through the village and a few strategically parked cars at the right times will soon get the contractors to hurry up with the bypass. You'll just have to let the locals know what times to avoid.alex wrote:.............
As well as the 750 HGV Trucks* per day as mentioned, there will be 900 buses, and then other incidental build traffic, according to EdF figures. All on top of what we already endure on an over subscribed road that is far too narrow.

As if we would. The double yellow lines have increased in the village, and there are more restrictions to come.kenneal - lagger wrote:A few locals driving very slowly through the village and a few strategically parked cars at the right times will soon get the contractors to hurry up with the bypass. The white paint used for cycle lanes seems to corode tarmac faster than the general wear and tear. A long stretch on the main road I cycle home on was getting quite bumpy and pitted, so the council kindly came and put a nice new strip of tarmac over the line - erasing an important cycle lane completely overnight.

Strategic mass cycling, not a bad thing. Get all participants to wear a striped tee shirt, beret and string of onions round the neck.
May be more prudent to co-ordinate an equivalent amount of commuters anticipated for each shift change, and get them all to converge onto the approach road to Hinkley. Need someone to bankroll a load of buses, lorries and helicopter as well to record the chaos from the air. Sadly would never happen as the cohesion is never good enough, and too many would agree with the idea, but not take part.
Moving on, some bits from the press. Hit the Green highlighted under HERE
Even at home there are problems. Flamanville Costs Increase
As well as this little bit from Business Green
Finally the Enel Italian withdrawal Enel in Italy to part company
May be watch this space?
