Angel (pron. "An-Hell") Headhoncho of the OECD was interviewed on R4 this morning and his support for nuke electricity was unbelievable. In that I can't believe that an intelligent grown-up was advocating this kind o'thing for countries having inhabitants so poor as to make bribery of honest people possible.
It's nothing to do with the physics, any given nuclear power plant is run by people. In a poor country this will inevitably include people who need money for meds for their elderly rels, money to get their kids to Uni/out of the country/married, people who will write "pass" instead of "fail" on a form and keep quiet for that kind of cash.
Good grief, if a small Renewable were in pain and the only cure was expensive, even I might have a price.
