PO.com - "Nuclear Power Facts"

Is nuclear fission going to make a comeback and plug the gap in our energy needs? Will nuclear fusion ever become energetically viable?

I think these guys numbers are in dispute.

See the thread called "Uranium Supply" by MBS

This is typical of the "Whistleblower phenomenon". It is almost always just one or two people that blow the whistle for years, and get into a lot of trouble for doing so. e.g. Colin Campbell (oil); Derek Bryce-Smith (lead in petrol); others on BSE, etc. So far, there is no sign of others replicating Storm's work, partly because it is stored in very detailed nuclear physics literature, and partly because it would be a quick way of wrecking your career. This is a problem.

Yeah thats true about the whistleblowers, the trouble is they are often very wrong.

Therefore it is important to scrutinise their work.

No one doubts Uranium production will peak on day like all finite resources, but it is the timing that is important.

For example, Colin Campbell is one of the whistleblowers on oil, but his initial prediction for global oil peak was 1988, only out by 22 years by his own admission so far!
