Got a salesman with an Australian accent calling tomorrow to try and sell me a grid connected PV system.
I am not sure if he realises yet just what a customer from hell he is meeting - am going to act dumb at first.
Out of interest does any one here run such a system? Happy as Larry?
Apart from the mismatch of demand and supply I am highly dubious about both
"smart" meters and the likely lifespan of an dc/ac inverter on the end of rural overhead
20kV line with pole mounted transformers in an area with a fair number of lightning strikes.

How about a pole mounted transformer in a wildfire?
