Certainly an impressive scheme, and unlike most solar farms it is to incorporate significant energy storage.

As with similar projects, I have misgivings about taking farm land out of use for electricity production.
I would prefer PV atop existing or new buildings, thereby occupying no more land than the building alone would have taken up.

I observe that some of the objections are due to fear of fires or explosions from the presumably lithium batteries.
I have some sympathy in this regard and hope that large batteries are a good distance away from homes.

Very large lithium batteries for utility scale energy storage are probably LESS of a risk than small batteries in the home.
A utility scale battery bank is a huge investment, and there is therefore a very strong financial incentive to ensure that it does not blow up.

Small consumer grade batteries are arguably a greater risk, why would the makers care if a few blow up ? They have got the money by then and the blow up is most unlikely to endanger those who made the dodgy batteries.

I still don't want a multi megawatt lithium battery too near me though.
