Possible to have an "active topics" link ?

Or is there one somewhere ?
There is the "view posts since last visit" one but it doesn't have the same behaviour as an "active topics" link it seems (list of topics in this view is quite small).

Asking this as I read PS quite regularly, but tend to check only news and discussions so probably miss some interesting threads.

What do you mean by "active topics"? Topics which have had some reply in the last N days, or ones which you've previously marked as "interesting", or something else?

I was wondering whether some form of scoring system would be a useful measure - e.g. people mark a topic as interesting or not, and you can see the top ranked "interesting" topics. Then again of course, people are interested in different things.

Maybe there is a mod that can attached where people can 'vote' on peoples posts, like they do on youtube or the guardian.

I'd like to make the new posts since last visit link more prominent.

The problem with voting on posts is that, human nature being what it is, people might be inclined to say things that will please others and not what needs to be said.

Also, I suspect the popularity (or not) of a poster would influence whether they got a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" - not necessarily the merits of their post.

"active topics" usually just list the topics in a flat fashion, the order being the last having had a response to at the top, so a "last replied to" order.

Present on most forums now, and quite handy when you don't often open some categories folders.

(and with the category name displayed next to the topic title)
