I suspect that it might be a record low for carbon intensity of electricity production, or very close thereto.
CCGT at below 1 GW is very rare.

UK wind power has been over 10GW for the last 24 hours, and did reach about 14 GW at one point.
Some way short of a record, but might be a new record for summer.

We even stopped importing electricity from France.

For the last couple of days, UK wind power has been steady at about 15 GW. A most useful saving of gas.
Given the windy weather, I am surprised that no new records have been set.
I remain of the view that we should DOUBLE wind power capacity in the UK. Had this been done, we would have achieved about 30 GW from wind, thus meeting almost all of the UK nigh time demand.
If PV capacity had also been doubled, then wind and PV would have supplied a large proportion of the daytime demand.

The previous record of 17.3 GW indicated in Gridwatch almost a year ago has not been surpassed, surprisingly in my view considering the recent high winds.

There aren't that many big wind farms in the south west. The North Sea, home to the big off-shore sites, was not that windy.
