An interesting view, and in particular a test of the emergency escape device, which looks horrible but is preferable to being dead.

I recall a tragedy in which a wind turbine caught fire and an engineer atop the machine jumped to a certain death. The escape equipment is similar to that used decades ago on tower cranes and like places whereby an injured person may be lowered at a safe speed to the ground.

O/T but about a century ago, a similar contrivance was available for escape from the upper floors of a building. "Davy patent escape" It was considered the cheapskate alternative to a proper fixed fire escape stairway.
