" Tesla stock has crashed to its lowest level since August 2020, falling more than 20 per cent over the last seven days.

The stock collapse comes amid fears about production delays in China, as well as concerns that CEO Elon Musk has been distracted by his recent purchase of Twitter.

The losses leave the electric car maker’s market cap below $350 billion, having been valued above $1.23 trillion just over one year ago. To put this in context, this loss is more than the combined value of all other car makers globally."

The Guardian reports that Musk got the Twitter algorithm changed to vastly increase the number of people who are fed his own tweets, including people who don't follow him, after Joe Biden got more reads than Musk did about the superbowl game

" Retaliation against organizing unions is illegal under US federal law, and complaints with the NLRB can lead to fired workers being reinstated with backpay, Bloomberg notes.

The Buffalo facility, which is also known as Gigafactory 2, is home to over 800 analysts tasked with labeling vision data to train Tesla’s Autopilot software. Bloomberg reports that employees have complained of excessive monitoring (including tracking keystrokes) and productivity targets that are so high that employees have felt pressured to not visit the bathroom. Workers are also seeking better job security and pay. The union also hopes to organize the 1,000 manufacturing employees based in Buffalo."

Doesn't sound a fun place to work or fun work for that matter! I would be rather less than happy relying on safety critical autopilot software developed by folk working under such pressured working conditions.
