No mention of scarce resources for batteries and other electrical components. No mention of countries where scooters aren't practical because of weather.

Electric scooters are not a cure all, but do show considerable promise.
Rare earth metals are used in manufacture, though in much smaller amounts than for electric cars.
Electricity, which may be fossil fuel derived, is required for charging, but the consumption is modest if compared to an electric car, and probably compares well to an electric bus.

Only a few die hard devotees would use an E-scooter in bad weather or for a long journey. But for local use in moderate weather they are very useful.

It is therefore regrettable that the UK authorities are so opposed to this low carbon and cheap mode of transport. Some local authorities and police forces measure their success by the numbers of E-scooters confiscated and then destroyed.
