Mitsubishi Outlander Plug in Hybrid

I got an unsolicited snail mailing today from Mitsubishi telling me about their new plug in hybrid becoming available in August together with a web link. I looked it up and was getting quite interested until I saw the price tag. Over £42k! WTF! Seems to me this tech will have to get a hell of a lot cheaper before it becomes a realistic option!
It's all downhill from here!

These vehicles might be more to do with avoiding the London congestion charge than saving the planet.
