Hello Peak Oil / Ale -ers

Just returned from hols, during which period I notice that various Twitter messages were sent regarding a beer festival event on May 18th. I tried to construct a response in under 140 characters, but failed miserably - so I'm writing here the "traditional" way.

Happy to attend gatherings, but I can't get Friday 18th off work so no daytime boozing for me, I'm afraid.

Not sure who is coming yet, but we're aiming for afternoon into evening at The Continental beer festival, Preston on Fri 18 May and a Ramsbottom steam train pub crawl on Sat 30 May (probably).

How was your holiday?

Hi ES - looks like Preston on the 18th isn't really practical for me - but count me in for the 30th if that's going ahead.

Holiday was A-OK (though the cycling was cancelled) - you can see some pics linked from my blog (blog link in sig)

Hello ES - didn't spot that message until too late (when I got an email informing me that I was mentioned in your Tweet). Anyway hope the festival was a success - I was in Halifax until 5PM, so making it to Preston wasn't very practical.

.......actually I was too gormless to realise that the plan was for June, and I think I'll be unavailable that weekend, probably heading off to Tuscany to do a week's biking and wine-tasting around Cortona at Castello Neve. http://www.3d3world.com/castello/

We're currently planning (badly!) our next peak ale trip - a steam train pub crawl on the Ramsbottom steam train - 'Rail Ale'
