No-one from Afsl was at the first meeting I went to (only the third mtg) but I'll make sure they are invited.

I've also got it down on my list to call you and Sharman :-) to invite you and ask about available, preferably licensed, council locations in Altrincham / Hale / Bowden that we could use for a film showing / awareness raising. :-)

In some ways, not having Afsl involved at the setup stage is a positive sign - shows it is coming from the grassroots.

Now is the time to start enrolling all the existing groups though.

Good stuff!! No reason why AfSL should be involved necessarily, in fact it's good to hear about something they haven't initiated!!

Not sure about venues, Sharman would be the best person for you to ask I think, she is from round these parts!

The combination of council owned/cheap/licensed might be tricky though!!

There's the Robert Bolt theatre in Sale but it might be a bit too far North for you.

The Vegetarian Society is based in Altrincham:

They've got a big place, so guess they might be able to host meetings ?

Doubt it would be Licenced, although they might offer an illicit slurp of elderberry wine...?

That's a good point Mark - apparently they had been approached to see if they'd be interested in the Transition group, but hadn't got back to us yet.

I hadn't thought of them as a venue, but their place looks huge, so it may be a goer.

Thanks!
