I wonder if they got the plot from a bunch of powerswitch 'post peak scenario' threads!

What's BBC2? I can't find it on my radio. If it's one of those radio stations with pictures that some people can get on the internet, I can't because my connection is too slow

Bother, I shall be out at a meeting of Transition Town Louth, for the first episode.
BBC Commissioning Editor for Drama, Lucy Richer, said, "Burn Up is a highly authored piece wholly of this unique moment in time.
What does 'highly authored' mean? And which moments in time are not unique?

Hi and welcome Pennsif - good name BTW.
If it's that magical bowl thing from the Harry Potter movies then I like the idea of being able to give some ideas considerable thought - then setting them aside and leaving them there until required again. Kinda like not letting the whole concept of PO disable one's ability to function. So yes good name!
Back on thread. I'll not be able to see the second bit, so perhaps I'll not watch the first. Also the whole film is likely to be over done and over simplistic with the issues, so I wonder would it just annoy me anyway!

I suspect it might well become a talking point, and not an opportunity to miss...?

As long as it's better than the one about London flooding that was shown some months ago. What a load of cobblers that was.

'But Holly, now that you've washed your hair and shaved your legs...you're beautiful... but doesn't this mean The End Of The World As We Know It?"
If they don't say TEOTWAWKI and TSHTF at least once I shall be most disappointed.

I've been picking the gooseberries today, but the blackberries are only just flowering.

The blackberries here are already bloody delicious. plenty of rain this year so nice and juicy - in very dry years they end up as little bullets. Had a blackberry and apple pie with Sunday lunch. Picked the blackberries myself in a hedge on a side road about half a mile from here. ( I provided the ingredients, my mother who lives a short drive away did the cooking)
