Certainly a matter of considerable concern, which is why we should, as a nation, be working to encourage the use of renewably generated electricity as an alternative for transport, heating , and industry.
More trolley bus and tram routes.
More new electric railways and more use of existing facilities, preferably electrified.
Improved standards of insulation for homes, such that the much reduced heating demand can be supplied affordably by electricity.
For the wider environment, less oil used is good news.
