Trump calls for. 2020 election to be delayed over "mail ballot fraud"

I presume that that is his own side's fraud which is how he comes to know all about it?

I suspect that postal voting may be more vulnerable to fraud.
I am not aware of any credible evidence that such fraud would be more likely to be "anti Trump" rather than "pro Trump"
A cynic would suspect that the president simply wishes to divert attention from other issues.

A US president has no power to move or delay an election. Other from distracting people from other issues all his tweet today might accomplish is focus attention on the states that have such weak rules that fraud is in fact a possibility. Perhaps some of those can be adjusted before election day and of course those opposed to making them better will look like the jerks they are.

I suspect he is readying his excuses for refusing to accept defeat in the November election. He will only leave the Whitehouse at the point of a gun.

I'm pretty sure the joint chiefs of staff have no problem with that.
Hell carried out in a body bag would be fine with them.

Anyone following the situation in the US with the inability to agree a unemployment insurance deal? This seems of critical importance, and risks leaving millions of Americans (and states) with major money problems within days.

I'm watching it of course as I have some family members effected by it. Both sides need to clean up their versions of the bill by removing all the provisions not germane to the real issue.

The New York attorney General is sueing for the national rifle association to be disbanded as it is irreparably corrupt.

Not going to happen but it would be the best thing to happen to the American people in a very long time.

I dropped out of the NRA even before Bush 41 did in 2015 but for pretty much the same reasons. After the Contract with America put the Republicans in charge of congress for the first time in Decades in 1994 they sent me a missive screaming that they needed funds because the second amendment was in mortal danger. With the Republicans in charge of both houses this was ridiculous on it's face and revealed that the organization was self serving and not playing with the truth. I haven't sent them a dime sense.
The present organization does need to go and perhaps go to jail. After that some new organization will probably rise to actually perform the stated aims of their mission statement.
I expect the Democrats once in power will over reach on gun control and drive gun owners to organize this new body which without the corruption will be even more effective then the NRA has ever been.

The state aims to disarm you V. Sooner or later this will happen. It is only an accident of history that yours is a Western industrialized country where this has not already happened. I say this as no lover of arms and being entirely cognizant of the problems of crime associated with firearms in your inner cities.

But, nonetheless, I am also cognizant of the fact that a heavily armed populace tends to focus the collective mind of the state in a way that it does not have to be focused when its populace is unarmed but the state remains armed.

Anyone been following the storm in Iowa? It's incredible, 100mph gusts, huge damage, millions of acres of corn and soybean lost.

Searching Twitter for photos or videos of Iowa storm, it looks like a hurricane, just over a wider area.

Here is one video. As they state they do not know how much of the crop will straighten up enough to be harvested.
There is a long history of hail storms knocking a crop flat triggering insurance payouts to farmers for storm losses and then having them salvage half to two thirds of a crop at harvest time making them better off then those the storm missed.
But with 33 percent of fields damaged they are going to have a much lower total harvest which will yield higher prices which will benefit all those outside the storm area.

Well I do expect the probable incoming Biden administration to move in that direction. I don't plan to go quietly into that dark night.

Trump is actively trying to cripple the US postal service so that a high percentage of US postal votes at the november election arrive too late to be counted, with an expected net loss of democratic votes.

That said, the service is $100B in debt on its pension liabilities
