AFAIK no tankers have been sunk, but even the threat thereof is a serious matter.
Jerry cans already filled !
30L of petrol in RED jerry cans and about 100L of paraffin in BLUE jerry cans, and another reserve of paraffin in the plastic containers in which it is supplied.
Extra logs on order which IMHO is just as important. Any shortage of heating oil could greatly increase demand for fire wood.

Price is still $20 below the annual peak of $85 Brent.
I did order a top up on my heating oil a few days ago (smug grin)
This is a bit more serious than the previous attacks (?) as there appears to be more damage done, but so far it is low key, and with oil prices dropping low enough to make US fracking very unprofitable I am not sure the US is too upset.

If we actually get some decent shooting started between the US and Iran, it could be a wild ride for oil producers. Russia and Saudi Arabia won't have to cut production because Iran will probably come offline to some extent, prices will go up, and the only loser will be Iran in terms of lost revenue and whatever military hardware the US aims at. But they can take pride in having created a nice revenue increase for everyone else, friend and foe alike!adam2 wrote:"USA blames Iran for attacks on tankers"

Moon of Alabama: The attacks on the ships in the Gulf of Oman are not in Iran's interest - or are they?

Is a link worth viewing IMHO, hopefully it is not prophetic.

Well, except for us Yanks anyway. A continuation of the Carter Doctrine is just a continuation of the Carter Doctrine, nothing new really.Little John wrote:So, here we go.

The rest of the world sees this for exactly what it is.
Except now we don't need the oil like we did back then, the US having built it self to a oil and natural gas producing superpower. Another one of those advantages of us Yanks I suppose, besides the world can see whatever it wants but it sure can't do much about it.
So when are you Brits going to collect yourself a real Navy again?

The problem is the US has Bolton and Pompeo, both extreme warmongers. I think Corbyn was right to ask for credible evidence, and that was justified by Hunt’s (that is the correct spelling) dismissive remarks.
If they’re not blaming Iran they’re blaming Russia, it’s always someone elses fault.
