Taken the right decision to keep the country safe!

Post by snow hope »

I keep hearing this statement from our David... Does anybody really believe this sh1t??

Of course it isn't - it will increase the chance of an attack by ISIL.

Not that this is the real issue, but it is just getting on my goat!

What do folks think is the real reason DC wanted us to start bombing in Syria so urgently?

Check out the 'Jihad Watch' thread. Little John sums it up quite well on there. My view is that this will come back to bite us really hard.

It is not about defeating ISIS. It is not about alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people and it is not about protecting the UK from terrorists. It is about restablishing a bogus Western capitalist narrative of bringing "Freedom and Democracy" to the Middle East via the toppling of Assad. A narrative that has, in recent weeks, been unravelling as a consequence of a Syrian government requested Russian intervention. It is about protecting and furthering the specific power interests of a tiny minority of people. Same as it ever was.

All of the above can be stated whilst simultaneously recognising the need for military action to destroy ISIS and their ilk. Just not by our governments. There is too much blood of innocents on our hands and too much double dealings in our history in the Middle East for our actions to be viewed with anything other than disgust and mistrust by the locals.

We already have a jihadi watch thread in which such stacks and the response to them is discussed.
I am therefore locking this thread so as to keep such news and views in one place.
