Shell not in the Arctic

Post by biffvernon »

So Shell have decided to pull out of the Arctic.
I'm not at all surprised, though much relieved, as no doubt is Obama, who has managed to avoid giving his Republican foes an excuse to blame him for stopping it. Good call, Mr. President.

Are there any other companies planning to drill up there? I think Russia is still drilling on their side, although I think more gas than oil.

8) Probably not see any renewed interest until the price gets back up above $100/bl.
That's OK with me. The oil will stay in place until we are desperate for it.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools - Douglas Adams.
