It's actually not the first find, Rockhopper Exploration found the Sea Lion field a few months back which could be anywhere from 150m - 1bn bbl.

Things seem to be moving down there.

It's a great time to de-commission your aircraft carrier

Actually, the UK has optimised the carrier design & size so that aircraft can now be included.

Time to reinforce the 500 troops and two aircraft guarding the sheep down there, now there's something more valuable.

Scrub that, looks like they found water instead.

Oil and water..........apart from the fact that they are completely different it's easy to get confused isn't it :? .

Any oil experts know how a company could confuse water for oil?

However a 24% overnight share price rise is worth an erroneous report now & then ...

Check out the wealth of the directors of these Falklands oil explorers some time ... ho, humm ...

Where was the South Sea Bubble located? Are the Falklands in the South Seas?

We don't need no aircraft carrier, being as the Harriers we no longer have from last month haven't been radar equipped interceptor types since 2006 when we chopped the Sea Harrier force. Las Malvinas has a huge but rather fixed runway at Mount Pleasant, with a whole flight of four Typhoons with 4 AMRAAMs each per air defence sortie, until we can ferry some more down there if it gets all tetchy. And we don't need no Nimrods no more neither, to patrol the surrounding seas.

But the Argentinian air force is also far smaller and less capable than it was in 1982. Their Skyhawks are updated versions, but their Mirages are the very same airframes. Conceivably, Hugo Chavez might lend out his state of the art Sukhois to Cristina if there is a really big find worth contesting.

Just as well it's only water from a dry well. Oxymoron?

It's in the SUN, where only the facts are changed for the sake of a story.

Bringing oil to the surface by 2015? That'll be a record from what I've heard.

We don't really need aircraft carriers of the same size anymore now that 'Dave' is organizing the return of those 20 Spitfires from Burma.

What chances do Skyhawks or Mirages have against British boys in Spitfires !

Trust "Call me Dave" to try and take the credit. He's probably done bugger-all. I don't like Nadine Dorres, but her summary was pretty near.
