Matt Simmons apparently drowned at his home Sunday night
NORTH HAVEN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Knox County Sheriff's Department says Matthew Simmons, the founder of the Ocean Energy Institute, drowned at his house on North Haven late Sunday night.
Simmons was a leading investment banker for the energy industry and had recently retired to work full time on the new Ocean Energy Institute.
He was a leading proponent of offshore wind power and had started raising money to develop and build offshore turbines.
He and his family had also bought and rebuilt the Old Strand Theater in downtown Rockland.

I've met Matt a few times, a nice fellow and over the years did a fantastic job of raising the profile of peak oil. His recent out of this world pronouncements over the BP accident left many perplexed and now this tragedy.
The message from Simmons & Co is that he passed away in his sleep. RIP.

I wonder if this has links to the topics of other threads in which he was mentioned recently.
Sad news,
Peter.

Similarly perplexed.
Just saw the news on the Green Energy Investors site.
Something about drowning in a pool.

I wasn't agreeing with the conspiracies, I simply meant what I said.

Exactly what I was thinking. Once is chance, twice is coincidence, third time is a pattern...

And by now you might start to suspect that even YOU are targeted. Together with your entire family. Hehehe... That's what happen when time pass by. We get older and finally we die from old age. Nobody has escaped as far as I know.

Or even sooner from adage.
Not that I meant that LancasterLad was a partaker in konspiracy theories, BTW.
I think we need to be careful about rushing out an instant paperback on recent sad events.
