I know a fair bit about WH Smiths - I have a sister who still works there.

Their management is delusional and their logistical supply is clueless

It would be no loss.

They came into an already overcrowded market in Ireland some years ago. Pharmacies have always been as common as mobile phone repair shops and vape shops are now. The Irish love the personal touch, which Boots can't give.

Oh, and their own-brand products are rubbish.

I seem to remember Irish pharmacies have a bar included, at least the rural ones.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen plans to close 17 stores to stay afloat

I'm quite pleased to say I've never heard of GBK. Or FlyCello. Or Coast. Or Patisserie Valerie. Or Cobalt. Or quite a number of other RIPs mentioned in this thread.

I heard of GBK for the first time ever today in our local paper. Didn't know what it stood for or what it did though. It was mentioned in an article about the opening of a new all you can eat buffet restaurant with the snappy name of Kung Fu Oriental Buffet. It is one of a chain of 23 with two more opening this year.

Interserve looking very uncertain.
Largely contract cleaning for the public sector, including network rail.
