From twitter:
NEW: Speaker John Bercow says he will consult party leaders now, the Commons “must convene without delay
So...tory party conference is scheduled for next week. Is it going to go ahead, when parliament is supposed to be sitting? That would be quite some shitshow. Or is it going to be cancelled!!!? LOL.

He is allowed to prorogue for 4-5 days, might do that for next week.

It is remarkable though, reading the judgement, how on earth he and his advisors thought they could get away with it?

It is absolutely f***ing hilarious, Steve. You could not make this stuff up. Much better than Game of Thrones.

At heart, I'm a sort of anarchist, and this is perfection.

It would be illegal again. Proroguing parliament is only supposed to happen when a government wants to end a session and start a new one with a new Queen's Speech. But given that Johnson has a majority of -43 and has absolutely no chance of passing any legislation whatsoever, what possible justification is there for needing a Queen's Speech?

Indeed. It was a blatant and cynical abuse of parliamentary procedure.

The Court has quashed his advice to the Queen, so that relationship is in tatters too.

BoJo's massive hole has just got even deeper
What's the record for the shortest reign for a PM ?

So, it is now fully clear what is happening.

The political class is aiming to or has already achieved:

Make it illegal to leave on 31 October without a deal.

Make it illegal to close parliament to limit the political class' capacity to thwart the democratic vote of the people.

Make it illegal to actually leave without a deal under any circumstances.

Avoid an intended future referendum until (c) is in place.

Hold another referendum where the options on the ballot paper with be BRINO or Remain. Leave on WTO will not be on the paper.

Finally, only hold a GE if all of the above have been fully achieved

Democracy has been denied to the people. Other means will now have to be employed to enact that will.

And you can f***ing bet they will be.

To answer my own question, I expect he knew and expected to lose. It help build the narrative, Boris, standing up for the people against the establishment.

Yet people voted to leave.

I think its clear that a meaningful brexit will not happen.

I'm sure this will make very many people very happy.

No matter what the resulting consequences will be.

Democracy can now be added to the pile of things already damaged and discarded.

No. You are (save splitting hairs over language use) right up until here. There will almost certainly be an election before the referendum. Just not before article 50 has been extended.

wanna f***ing bet?

It is now quite clear the currently firmly ensconced globalist flank of the ruling class are prepared to do literally anything to stop Brexit and that will inevitably include not taking the chance of running a GE where Leave votes could swing a parliamentary majority in favor of Brexit. There is no way on God's earth they will EVER let that happen. They made that mistake in 2016. It is quite clear they intend to NEVER make that mistake again.

I might just take you up on that. I'm pretty sure I am right. There will be a successful VonC within a week of a50 being extended.

I think that they think no deal won't win an election after an extension.
