Now a cunning plot to stop the Ecuadorian president being elected, so they can get to Julian Assange

Just think what all those devious minds could do if they were put to work making the world a better place .

Thoughtful, long-ish piece from Nozomi Hayase.
WikiLeaks burst a strait jacket of sorts, freeing information from the control of the nation-state paradigm. It affected countries where there is little free speech. For instance, leaked US diplomatic cables put legitimacy of governments under broad scrutiny in places like Tunisia. Materials evidencing corruption and lies of officials everywhere shook up the official cover provided by corporate media that is embedded with state power. It helped make what Tunisians already knew undeniable and added fuel to the rage that later became the Tunisian uprising. Such courageous actions created a ripple effect in the world. When the Tunisian government blocked leaked State Department cables, pro-WikiLeaks computer hackers went into Tunisian government websites and redirected the material through another route for the public to access. In 2011, Egypt dictator Mubarak shut down all but one of his country’s Internet service providers in the face of the uprising, Telecomix, a decentralized cluster of Internet activists kept communication lines open for people.

He may be there for some time, but I'm optimistic that the US will never actually manage to get hold of him.

Sources close to this reporter have confirmed that WikiLeaks founder and international fugitive Julian Assange has been arrested by Scotland Yard detectives at a private medical clinic located just a five minutes drive from the Ecuadorian embassy at Hans Crescent, London.

It is believed that Assange had been feeling unwell since before christmas, and after consultation from the in-house doctor he was referred to the specialist clinic.

Just before entering the clinic Assange was arrested by undercover Scotland Yard officers who swiftly took him into there custody.

It is beleived that Assange was then transported to the nearby Chelsea and Westminister hospital - also in central London.

The incident only occured within the last 45 minutes and details are rapidly unfolding.

Even at this early stage it is understood that Assange was being transferred by diplomatic officials from the embassy - and the convey he was being transported in had diplomatic plates.

The only certain thing is that Conal Urquhart didn't write the Indymedia article!

Why did I not hear the news of Assange's arrest on the BBC?

This is an interesting concept, not just in the context of Assange. It's a parcel, sent to Mr A, in which a camera takes a snapshot of its surroundings every ten seconds.

Most of the snaps would be pretty boresome but how will censors deal with parcels if this becomes a common occurence?

There is no conspiracy.
As reported at Dailycensored.com on November 14, 2012, two sources have alleged that the CIA has been engaging in cocaine trafficking in Chile to fund an $88 million campaign to defeat President Rafael Correa in Ecuador’s upcoming presidential election: former British Diplomat Craig Murray, and Chilean journalist Patricio Mery Bell.

It is no secret that the US wants to see Correa defeated and the presidential election scheduled next month in Ecuador will see whether he is. He has enacted policies the US government considers adverse to US interests including closing the US military base in Ecuador. Moreover, it is likely the US sees the defeat of Correa as key to getting its hands on Julian Assange.

There is also the $19 billion judgment by an Ecuadorean court against Chevron for despoiling the DODGY TAX AVOIDERS rainforest. A group of the plaintiffs have recently begun initiating legal proceedings to seize Chevron’s assets in Canada, Brazil and Argentina.

The allegations of Cocaine trafficking are strikingly similar to cocaine trafficking by the CIA in the 1980s to fund the Contras in Nicaragua.
