You're going soft! :D
Aye, life was so tough in OUR house, that in winter the oxygen froze out of the air. The youngest bairn had the job of stirring the pools of liquid gas on the floor to get some oxygen to the rest of us. You youngsters of today don't know owt abaht nowt.
You were lucky.......

When I were a lad, we used to freeze to death every winter and not thaw out until spring. My Dads arm fell off when an icicle broke off the lampshade and hit him before he'd defrosted. The worst bit was missing Christmas.

People nowadays ? They don't know they're born.

I have just read winter outlook 2008/9. National Grid seems to be looking at lower levels of LNG imports which is surprising.

They are expecting things to pick up from Norway. I am not sure that Norway has the gas available. I haven't checked recently, but I understood they were using gas for reinjection to get out oil.

National Grid's winter outlook report is based on an extensive and lengthy consultation process involving the whole of the energy industry - so please be assured that they will have taken full account of the best available information on Norwegian gas and LNG availability this winter. Grid are not politicians and have no reason to try to present things through rose tinted glasses.

This is not looking good.
That's taken into account in the Winter Outlook report as well, and there is still an ample safety margin in place throughout the winter. The narrow margin in November that's causing the concern is the margin of supply above demand plus the safety margin. It's a price issue - the most expensive plants are likely to have to run - not a security of supply issue.
