Latest attack seems to be on the oil storage and transport industry with many companies in north western Europe admitting to problems.

A petrol panic seems probable, together with a worsening of the LPG shortage.

Not certain whom is behind this. Foreign powers seeking to destabilise the West ? Criminals seeking a ransom ? Deep green activists seeking to disrupt the oil industry ? I doubt that XR have the expertise to do this, but could be wrong.

Details from media of your choice.

Rightly or wrongly, I suspect Putin will be suspected.

This attack on Iran is interesting in that it appears to have had significant physical consequences, rather than simply loss of or corruption of data.
I have little sympathy for Iran, but other countries may be vulnerable to similar attacks,

Anyone carrying out a cyber attack on the NHS must know that they are likely to cause serious hurt or even death to patients so it makes you wonder who would do such a thing.

I worked for a European bank back in the 1990s.

My task was fighting the technical machinations of organised crime gangs in the financial sector even then.
The gangs even had office blocks where hackers would go to work just like normal employees.

Clearly we encountered a smattering of stupid kids working in their bedrooms - but they were mostly ignored.

I went to get stuff printed today and the print ship had a BT problem. Later on, Marvellous Other 1/2 went to our local co-op and it was shut - due to a technical fault.
I'm wondering if the 2 are related and if they are malicious - and whether that malice is Russian.

I once had a 4G Wi-Fi hub with that company. Totally useless outside of major cities in Australia. You needed to have hold the Wi-Fi hub high up in the corner of one room for it to work properly. I used Telstra instead after that.

I have heard someone lost $3000 due to identity theft after this incident.

It would be interesting to see how the data was stolen. I heard a test database was set up and presumably someone forgot to delete it after ''testing'' finished perhaps.
